DBT Skills Group
DBT is an increasingly popular method of treatment that combines elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness skills and practices. My colleague David Elder and I run a DBT skills group weekly, during which we teach and apply DBT skills (Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Mindfulness), all of which are designed to teach participants a helpful balance of change and acceptance.

Are you dealing with major life transitions? You have worked your entire life and are now wondering what is next for you. Do you find yourself unmotivated, down, lacking purpose or direction. You are recently jobless, divorced, lost a loved one, facing health issues, loss of income or relationship issues. Recently retired and find you are unfulfilled and unhappy? You are not alone. This is an opportunity to meet twice a month with others facing the same challenges. We will share our stories, invent new purpose, discover new direction, find support and friendship. Parents in Pain Group
We are forming a support group for parents with children who are struggling with addiction, anger or incarceration. The purpose of the group is to give parents the opportunity to interact with parents facing similar challenges, to share our experiences, develop new perspectives,learn new coping strategies and strengths and develop new insight. You are not alone. We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at 281 South Main Street in Centerville. Please join us. Cost is by donation.
