Matt Forbes, CSW

As someone who has lived with the symptoms of anxiety and depression for years, I know how difficult life can be when these things weigh you down. Fortunately, this doesn’t have to be the case. I am experienced in applying therapeutic skills that I personally know to be powerful in relieving suffering. My experiences with these challenges allow me to work from a caring, empathic position. Also, I have experience working with interpersonal conflict resolution and self-esteem struggles. I enjoy working with teens and adults in the pursuit of improving lives. I also work well with LGBTQ+ clients.

I believe that our negative thoughts cause us unnecessary suffering. These thoughts precipitate perfectionism, depression, addiction, excessive stress, etc. As a result, I operate primarily from a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) perspective. I use techniques focused on exploring painful, unhelpful thoughts that, once examined, lose their ability to negatively affect us.

I work with individuals who are seeking relief from life’s struggles. I am a warm and genuine therapist who prides himself on being respectful of human diversity, while producing results and reducing suffering. I am anxious to work with people who are ready to change for the better.
